lyrics
Can’t you tell trouble’s brewing here?
Can’t you feel, can’t you feel it changing here?
Where is it?
What have you done with it?
Bring it back, bring It back,
I need him here
I, I, I need him here
I, I, I need him here
Gentle souled, innocence stripped
Holding back
Hold him back!
For fear of it
Avert your eyes
Raise your hands
Fear will keep you alive
Raise your hands
Bitter hate
Brewing bitter boy
Oh, my boy
Oh, my boy
Don’t talk
Don’t talk back
Avert your eyes
Raise your hands
Fear will keep you alive
I, I, I need him here
I, I, I need him here
I, I, I need him here
I, I, I need him here
I, I, I need him here
I, I, I need him here
I, I, I need him here
Oh, my boy
O, my boy

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
The dreamlike songs of mohs imagine a kind of ambient take on jazz, with darting horn lines surrounded by billowing textures. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 13, 2023
